The OnMed CareStation™ is the Future of Healthcare Access

In an article published by U.S. News & World Report, OnMed CEO Karthik Ganesh highlights how OnMed’s CareStation™ is an 8×10 foot “Clinic‑in‑a‑Box” that is helping address rising emergency department wait times and limited access to care.
The “Clinic‑in‑a‑Box” enables fully private virtual healthcare visits, with patients connecting to a live clinician on a 65‑inch screen and using built‑in diagnostic tools such as infrared cameras, thermal scanners, pulse oximetry, a blood pressure cuff, an otoscope, and a remotely guided stethoscope. Most patient needs are resolved during the visit, and the CareStation self‑sanitizes after each appointment using ultraviolet light.
The CareStation’s fast five‑week deployment makes it a strong fit for states preparing to use Rural Health Transformation funds to expand care access in underserved communities. Already installed in settings such as charter schools, children’s centers, senior centers, homeless shelters, and a prison, the CareStation will soon offer mental health services as well.
OnMed is a recipient of the Edison Awards, honoring excellence in innovation—a milestone Ganesh describes as powerful validation of the team’s mission to expand access to everyday healthcare.
